Homeschool

Well, we survived our first day of homeschool. Emmett was beyond excited when the boxes arrived and he saw all of the new books. The instructions say to let the kids explore the box. So Emmett has read an entire years worth of books in four days. I think we'll be taking him to 2nd grade Language arts in January! The good news about having Emmett bored is that he has taken to using all of the phonics flash cards on Cora and now she has the motivation to read. She's had the skills since she turned three in December, but not the desire. Something to be said about having two kids close together - sometimes they learn more from each other than from me. And once in a while they learn something good!

On other fronts, Thatcher has decided that crawling is passe and now he is pulling himself up on things. He is taking a few cruising steps as well. He might be my earliest walker yet. Watching Emmett and Cora run around like monkeys must be incentive.
